Today, some of North America’s top travel bloggers, including #ExpediaT5 contest winners Sherry Ott and Nancy D. Brown, are in Seattle for Expedia Blogger Day 2011.

The day will start with an informal welcome lunch hosted by Joe Megibow, general manager and vice president of Expedia.com.  At Barrio, one of Seattle’s best Mexican restaurants, bloggers will have the opportunity to network and get to know a number of Expedia’s key executives.

Following lunch, the group of about twenty travel bloggers will head to Expedia’s headquarters in Bellevue for a meeting with Scott Durchslag, president of Expedia Worldwide. As the person ultimately responsible for managing the overall strategy, Durchslag will share some of Expedia’s current initiatives that aim to drive innovation and position the Expedia brand for further international growth.

Once the meeting concludes, bloggers will attend breakaway sessions with key Expedia executives including: Joe Megibow, vice president and general manager of Expedia.com; John Kim, senior vice president of global products; and Ben Kazez, senior director of apps and emerging platforms.

The group will finish the day with box seats at the Seattle Seahawks’ Monday Night Football game against the St. Louis Rams.

  • This trip to Seattle, Washington was my first time to book travel (hotel and airfare) using Expedia.com. Not only was it an easy experience, I also learned that Expedia offers activities to enhance your visit. I booked myself a Seattle City Tour and I’m going to have dinner at the top of the Space Needle. What a trip!
