Our new sister website, BrilliantAzores, has created a list of the top 10 reasons to visit one of the most remote places in the ...

The White Elephant’s Lobster Bloody Mary

Last night, while at the Barnacle in Marblehead with Gary Arndt of Everything Everywhere, a waitress walked by with a Bloody Mary and the couple at the table next to us asked if we’d ever had a Lobster Bloody Mary. Apparently, Nantucket’s Brant Point Grill (a.k.a. BPG) in the White Elephant Hotel serves up a colossal, over-the-top Lobster Bloody Mary. While I’m not a big Bloody Mary fan, Gary added that he thought a good Bloody Mary consisted of half drink and half salad. With ...

Flying High Above Benicassim, Spain

As part of this past week’s #BlogTripFIB, I had the amazing opportunity to fly in a small plane over the city of Benicassim (one hour north of Valencia, Spain) and take some aerial photos with video blogger extraordinaire Diego Pons of Viajando con Diego. As a self-proclaimed airplane geek, I was thrilled when I received a call from @joantxo offering me the chance to snap some birds-eye-view shots of Benicassim and the FIB festival grounds.

Doing Business Around the World

How people from various cultures perceive information and negotiate business deals can differ a great deal. The best way to avoid potentially embarrassing and costly miscues when dealing with foreign cultures is to be prepared. One of the most important things to remember is that from the moment you step off the plane in a foreign country, you are a guest.

The Best Way to Shorten a URL for Twitter

As the editor of Brilliant Tips from BrilliantTrips.com, I have found that the best way to shorten your URLs for Twitter and increase traffic to your blog is to use Su.pr, the URL shortening service by Stumbleupon. Expanding upon Stumbleupon’s primary mission of discovery, Su.pr not only shortens your URLs for Twitter, but also automatically adds them into Stumbleupon’s main database. This greatly increases the opportunity your articles have of being discovered by a wider audience.
When someone clicks on your shortened link, that person will see that Su.pr has added ...
